Sorry it's been a while, life has a way of tripping you up until you cry Uncle. Having cried out for said Uncle, and maybe having an embarrassing episode of weeping at the bank, I finally managed to read Quent's post about our lovely friend, Daniel "Cruiser" Stone. Cruiser is a jerk, a complete and total social time bomb. That's why he is an undatable menace, and why he's so much fun. Imagine a world where you can say exactly what you think, with out a single care. How much fun would it be? Cruiser lives his life that way' and scratches his head when people get mad. He didn't intend to be obnoxious so you must be an idiot for being offended. That's life according to Cruiser.
What I disagree with is his view on women. It's not that he finds all women annoying. He has two rigid categories for women. One is where his sister and niece fall. The perfect, sweet, innocent, beautiful, pure, angle column. The rest fall into annoyingly complicated and prone to yelling at, and or slapping him column. Sam comes along and manages to blur the lines in his neat and orderly world. I almost feel bad for him, He's so far out of his element and safe zone with her. He's his usual bull -in -a -china shop self and she keeps smiling at him. Stranger yet, she cares, and is sweet and kind, and beat him with a stick. This is not, he repeats, not how women act. Sam refuses to be categorized by him. The poor man has no clue what to do, or why he wants to shake her and kiss her. Cruiser is a commando, but he's no match for Sam and her unsinkable belief in him.
Okay I have to go engage in real life but I'll be back soon. Thanks for reading!
Website building is difficult and tries my patience. Cruiser would have hucked this damn computer against a wall long ago and been done with the complications of technology. Trading in ether frustrations for a nice therapeutic bottle of tequila... and lets just be honest... probably a good old fashioned bar room brawl. Instead, I trudge forth, alcohol and head injury free.
As Troubled Waters finds its conclusion, it's hard to look at the journey we have taken to get here and to envision the future it may have. It's been a hell of a ride.
Troubled Waters came to be after a lively discussion of who the hell can we get as a female counterpart for Cruiser? He's unlikable, he doesn't give a shit, he treats women as secondary annoyances at best, and yet... is there someone to balance him out? Thus Samantha Frost was born. The alternative was there is no one and Cruiser lives the single life for his duration. He wasn't opposed to it, tried his hardest to make it happen.
Anyway, the story of Troubled Waters is an action adventure book, but at its core is the ground work of a relationship in the making. Seeing why these characters compliment each other so well has been a gift. Now, as we look at putting on final touches and getting this book ready for the public eye, it is awe striking.
